1. Welcome to the about-once-a-month INFOCON newsletter

Dear colleague,

Happy birthday INFOCON! This eight edition of this newsletter marks the end of the first year of our project. Most of the planned fieldwork has now been carried out. At present we can, under the lead of the CIDIN (at Radbourd Universiteit Nijmegen), the CEDEM (at the Université de Liège) and the CARC (at the University of Kent), focus more intensively on three transversal themes: (1) Transnational Networks and their Role in Poverty Reduction; (2) New Minorities, New Confrontations & New Policies; and (3) Transnational Communities and Conflict Policies. Each of these themes will be dealt with in a separate research report, due in January 2010.

2. Annual progress report

Instead of a cake, we give you a birthday report. Our progress report contains information on the many dissemination, research and management activities that we have carried out since April 2008. You can download the report here .
