Meeting with DIASPEACE
On May 6 2008, we were given the opportunity to participate in the kick-off meeting of the research project “Disaporas for Peace” (DIASPEACE). DIASPEACE is a research project on diaspora communities from the Horn of Africa. INFOCON has several things in common with the DIASPEACE project: both are concerned with issues related to transnational communities; both are financed under the Seventh Framework Programme by the European Commission; and both will carry out research during the same period 5 (2008-2011). This is why the coordinators of both projects decided to collaborate closely, especially on information sharing and joint dissemination activities.
